Have You Ever?

I was reading in Psalms 86 in the message bible and began to wonder what happened

13 From the bottom of my heart I thank you, dear Lord  I’ve never kept secret what you’re up to.

14 You’ve always been great toward me-WHAT LOVE!

15  YOU’VE SNATCHED ME AWAY FROM THE BRINK OF DISASTER!

This past year I’ve started journaling.  I’m not always consistent, but getting there.  As I read through my journal I find myself experiencing what David did.  YOU’VE SNATCHED ME FROM THE BRINK OF DISASTER!

I understand David’s “awe” of God.  He is SO good!!!!  Have YOU ever experienced God’s GREAT LOVE toward you?  Do you remember the day?  I have and I’ve recorded it in my journal so that I never forget!

DON’T QUIT

Proverbs 10:4 He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Diligence: steady, earnest, energetic application of effort

I remember in college taking a course in Statistics.  I did horribly on my tests.  I didn’t understand any of the formulas.  I was lost.  The big problem was the final exam counted 60% of my grade and I had a “D” going into the final.  It seemed impossible.

In situations like this…diligence is the difference maker. Diligence REQUIRES that we see the details.

I found a man in my church who knew all about statistics.  I remember spending a full day with him.  He took me step by step teaching me to understand the formulas.

I confidently went into the final exam, took the test and ended up with an “89″ on my test.  I came within two points of getting an “A.”  I was surprised that my professor didn’t call me up to find out why I did so well on the test.

Most people are not diligent.  When you are diligent you are determined that you will find a way.

So the next time adversity hits you…the next time hell hits you….DON’T QUIT!!!!
